Dear Red Star readers,
Our 2006 Special Edition was released in an exclusive limited printing, so we know that many of you have never seen its contents. But we wanted to share some of the contents with all of you. So for all you Samsonov Vampire fans out there, here are the first two of a new series of wallpapers reproducing some of the art Emil created especially for that issue.
Enjoy!
Signed Copies of The Red Star Game are now on sale in The Red Store.

I'm wondering...why did THE RED STAR VOL.2 stop at issue #5. I've tried to RTFM and read an answer online but maybe just doing some Cub Journalism and asking you directly. Last we saw, the ship was boarded and there was no conclusions. I'm going on record as THE RED STAR being one of my favorite disappointments...sorry, guys. Look I know you'll have a cut & paste answer but can you shed a little light? What happenend to THE RED STAR...it's really a story in itself. What did you tell people in San Diego who asked "what happened"? Thanks, Rev. Sully.

Thanks for asking, Sully.
I'm happy to say that when people asked that question, we were able to show them the first two issues of the new story arc, "Sword of Lies", which not only continues the saga of the Konstantinov Mutiny, but also simultaneously reveals the origin story of the Red Star universe, the tragic story of the Summoner Imbohl.
We did take a long break. A painfully long break. About two years.
We had a few of those kinds of catastrophes that sometimes occur to small businesses. I admit those catastrophes may have been handled better by some, but the best I could do was to start as close to square one as I cared to get.
Still, please know that I do not begrudge you your disappointment, not in the slightest. Not only do I understand it, but I often feel the same way. After having put so much into this series, how could we still have so much to tell?
Fortunately for us, we do still have alot of story to tell. I've been found wanting in its delivery, I'll grant you that. I started this whole dang odyssey, sure as hell not going to let anyone else take the blame for it.
Nonetheless, somehow, despite all my partners and I have been through, I'm happy to report that we continue to create the adventures of Maya Antares, of her search to be reunited with her true love, and to liberate the souls of her ancestors.
Way I see it, if someone is disappointed that we haven't been around; that's the same as them saying they hope for us to continue. So thanks for that. And in gratitude, I'd be happy to send you the first two issues of the new series at no charge.
Please send us a mailing address via email and we'll get those out to you right away.
Thanks for writing.
Sincerely,
Christian Gossett

Thank you for the offer of the free comics but I really dig what you had to say in, "Way I see it, if someone is disappointed that we haven't been around; that's the same as them saying they hope for us to continue."
You are spot on correct. That's why I'll continue to support you in the only way I know how...and that's in purchasing your magazine.
I'm sure I'll like the story and art but I wanted to tell you that myself. Thanks for the offer though. That was very kind of you but we do need to support indie comics as we do indie musics...with our money and purchasing power as "consumers".
I'll check it out. I live in Boston and have four different places to go just off the top of my head if I have to hunt it down.
Thanks, Christian. Some day tell us what happened or link me here to where you've already told the story. I'd love to know...as I've said it's the "story within the story". THE RED STAR was one of the best indie comic books of the end of the 20th Century...hands down. It was captivating and enthralling. I wanted more, yes. I thought the art was more cutting-edge than (then-current) ULTIMATE X-MEN and I borrows the 1st TPB and lent it out as a pinnacle of "what is possible".
Again...thank you for the offer. I really want to know how this ends. I wish you success in finishing this great story you've started.
'Namaste,
Rev. Sully
